System Architect
Job Summary
Serving as the senior technical authority for a Medicare Part A claims processing system, the full-time remote System Architect will own the technical integrity of the FISS architecture, guide integration with cloud-hosted components, and define architectural standards while collaborating with modernization engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical integrity of the FISS architecture across all changes and modernization efforts
- Guide integration of the mainframe with cloud-hosted components and modern API-based services on AWS
- Define architectural standards and review all technical decisions impacting the core system
Required qualifications
- Deep hands-on experience with COBOL and IBM mainframe environments, including CICS and VSAM
- Experience integrating mainframe systems with cloud-hosted or API-based components
- Familiarity with AWS and modern API development patterns
- Experience with Medicare or Medicaid claims processing systems is a strong plus
- Bachelor's degree
