System Design Engineer
Job Summary
Collaborating across multiple departments, the full-time hybrid System Design Engineer will analyze carrier networking environments, create optimized solutions, and support RFP/RFQ responses while providing field support for network planning and deployment activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support RFP/RFQ Network Design responses and ensure accurate and timely submissions
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, guiding the field team for network planning and deployment
- Research and develop technical specifications, evaluating vendor and internal options for optimal solutions
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics; PhD preferred
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with a focus on 3rd party network design or optimization tools
- Working knowledge of carrier-class networking architecture, including WDM and IP/MPLS technologies
- Functional experience in sales engineering or product management
- Proficiency in scripting with tools such as Excel, Matlab, or Python
