Tax Technology Consultant

Job Summary

Managing all phases of Vertex Tax Technology implementations, the full-time remote Field Consultant Principal will serve as Project Lead and Project Manager across multiple client engagements, ensuring successful delivery while providing guidance to less experienced consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage project phases including requirements definition, solution design, system configuration, testing, and knowledge transfer
• Define project plans and coordinate tasks and resources to meet project commitments in alignment with the Statement of Work
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with client tax and IT staff, providing recommendations and managing expectations throughout the implementation lifecycle

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Vertex Tax Technology implementations and project management, with knowledge of at least one Vertex partner host application
• In-depth experience with transaction tax in public accounting or Fortune 1000 companies, including multi-state and/or VAT environments
• Proven ability to manage all phases of enterprise software implementations independently
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and implementation techniques for various database environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
