Job Summary
Supporting the SOCW 601N course on Anti-Oppression and Culture-Building Practice, the part-time hourly Teaching Assistant I will assist in reviewing student assignments, moderating classroom engagement, and facilitating discussions while primarily working remotely, with one in-person day at the start of the quarter.
Key responsibilities
- Support review and assessment of student assignments and manage the Canvas course
- Facilitate group discussions and provide tutoring during office hours
- Assist in creating and presenting teaching materials and proctoring exams
Required qualifications
- Currently enrolled PhD or PsyD student in good standing at PAU in the 2nd or 3rd year of study
- Advanced understanding of the subject matter related to anti-oppressive social work practices
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to create a comfortable learning environment for diverse students
