Teaching Assistant - Social Work
Job Summary
Supporting the educational experience of students, the part-time hourly Teaching Assistant - Social Work will assist with assignment reviews, facilitate classroom discussions, and manage course materials for SOCW 600 - Human Behavior in the Social Environment, while primarily working remotely with one in-person session at the start of the quarter.
Key responsibilities
- Support review and assessment of student assignments and facilitate group discussions
- Manage the Canvas course, including the creation of tasks and assignments
- Provide tutoring, hold office hours, and assist with proctoring exams
Required qualifications
- Currently enrolled PhD or PsyD student in good standing at PAU in the 2nd or 3rd year of study
- Advanced understanding of the subject matter related to the course
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent classroom management skills and a dependable work ethic
