Team Lead, Android Development

Job Summary

To enhance the development of a leading text-to-speech Android app, the full-time remote Team Lead, Android Development will manage major features, improve reliability metrics, and facilitate team collaboration while remaining hands-on with coding and code reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, collaborating closely with the design team from decision to release
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback to facilitate team learning
• Unblock team members and streamline processes to reduce manual intervention in releases

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including team leadership and hands-on coding
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Dagger 2, and Android architecture components
• Experience with shipping and maintaining background audio or long-running background tasks
• Strong understanding of testing practices and their importance in software development
• Demonstrated ability to drive team process changes and manage associated challenges
