Team Lead Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Leading a team of backend engineers, the full-time remote Team Lead Backend Engineer will architect and manage the Xsolla ID IAM platform, focusing on authentication and authorization systems while ensuring high availability and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture of the Xsolla ID IAM platform, including OAuth 2.0 / OIDC flows and web security fundamentals
• Lead and mentor a team of up to 8 backend engineers, conducting performance reviews and fostering a security-first culture
• Collaborate with product teams to define IAM roadmap and ensure delivery predictability for the mission-critical platform

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Go or 7+ years with other backend languages and Go proficiency
• Deep expertise in OAuth 2.0 / OIDC and IAM systems, including secure session management and token lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL and experience with distributed systems and high-availability system design
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams and delivering mission-critical infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and production deployments
