Job Summary
Driving strategic sourcing and category management, the remote contract Technical Acquisition and Category Manager will manage supply chain sourcing activities, partner with cross-functional teams, and optimize costs across a diverse product portfolio in a government-regulated manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead source selection activities, including supplier identification and performance assessments
- Develop and execute category strategies and sourcing roadmaps to support cost savings and new product development
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within a government-regulated manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Deep understanding of spend analysis, pricing structures, and supply chain economics
- Experience with ERP systems and spend analytics tools
