Technical Director, Project Management

Job Summary

To support major transportation programs, the part-time hybrid Technical Director, Project Management will provide project management leadership, oversee complex projects, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations while coordinating with various teams in the Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC, or Herndon, VA offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project management leadership for larger scale transportation projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and performance metrics
• Coordinate with program managers on change management, quality management, and contract compliance for multiple projects
• Develop project proposals, cost estimates, and resource plans while maintaining regular communication with clients regarding project status and issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a related discipline
• 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in transportation projects
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M) or equivalent experience
• Proficient understanding of project delivery processes within the A/E/C industry
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills for effective communication and leadership
