Technical Research Consultant

Job Summary

To support the Identity Verification Product team, the remote Technical Research Consultant will conduct hands-on research to identify and evaluate providers and data sources, test APIs, and document regulatory constraints while providing clear recommendations backed by prototypes and thorough research over a three-to-six month consulting engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate identity verification providers and data sources, focusing on regional options and market-specific requirements
• Integrate and test third-party APIs, building proof-of-concept applications to assess integration complexity and functionality
• Document regulatory and operational constraints while maintaining a structured view of provider coverage and monitoring changes in the identity verification landscape

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with third-party APIs and SDKs, capable of developing tests independently
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and familiarity with REST/JSON and API authentication methods
• Excellent technical research skills with the ability to differentiate between vendor claims and verified evidence
• Experience in translating business questions into structured evaluation criteria and producing concise technical documentation
• Prior experience in identity verification, KYC/KYB, fraud prevention, or related fields is preferred
