Technical Writer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time salaried position, the Technical Writer will research, document, and develop detailed operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance with specifications while coordinating a small team on projects.
Key responsibilities
- Research and develop technical documentation, including procedures, specifications, and training materials
- Collect and analyze technical information from various sources, including engineering documents and expert interviews
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of documents with requested specifications and contractual requirements
Required qualifications
- Education or formal training equivalent to an associate's degree in a technical discipline with ten or more years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive understanding of military or commercial systems and technical writing principles
- Experience with interactive electronic technical manual (IETM) tools for developing technical publications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software
