Technical Writer
Job Summary
To enhance the customer experience, the part-time Technical Writer II will manage the documentation portfolio end-to-end, focusing on content lifecycle from requirements gathering to publishing, while working remotely for 16 to 20 hours per week on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the entire content lifecycle, including requirements gathering, content planning, authoring, and long-term maintenance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, UX, Training, Support, and Marketing teams to produce high-quality technical documentation
- Create and publish various types of technical documentation, ensuring clarity and user-friendliness
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communication or a related field with 2-5 years of technical writing experience
- Proficiency in DITA XML authoring and associated workflows
- Experience with HTML-first documentation where each page functions as a standalone resource
- Ability to leverage AI tools for content quality and efficiency improvements
- Familiarity with Heretto CCMS or a similar component content management system
