Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Technical Writer/Editor II will edit and proofread materials for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health, ensuring compliance with federal plain-language guidelines and making health information accessible to limited English proficiency communities.
Key responsibilities
- Edit and proofread various written communications, ensuring adherence to plain-language standards
- Develop accessible English-language content for digital, broadcast, and print media targeted at diverse audiences
- Attend project meetings, contribute to discussions, and manage multiple editing tasks within deadlines
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field
- At least four years of experience as a Technical Writer/Editor or in a communications role, preferably in a federal government context
- Proficiency in editing, proofreading, and formatting documents in Microsoft Word
- Experience producing publication-ready documents in Adobe Acrobat
- Eligibility for an HHS Public Trust security clearance
