Job Summary
Seeking a Texas Licensed CDI Specialist, the contract position will perform concurrent reviews of inpatient medical records remotely, ensuring accurate documentation of patient severity, diagnoses, and treatments.
Key responsibilities
- Perform concurrent reviews of inpatient medical records for documentation accuracy and completeness
- Initiate compliant physician/provider queries for clarification and follow up on outstanding queries
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and provide education on clinical documentation opportunities
Required qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- 3+ years of acute-care hospital nursing experience, with critical care experience preferred
- 2+ years of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experience preferred
- CCDS or CDIP certification preferred, or ability to obtain after meeting eligibility requirements
- Strong understanding of inpatient clinical documentation and experience with Epic and 3M 360 preferred
