Job Summary
To support accurate clinical documentation and reimbursement processes, the full-time Texas Licensed Clinical Coding Specialist will work remotely to review medical records, assign appropriate clinical codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines while collaborating with a team of coding professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign accurate Evaluation and Management CPT, ICD-10 CM, and other relevant codes
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding coding issues, training needs, and workflow concerns
- Maintain coding quality by adhering to official guidelines and initiating physician queries when documentation is unclear
Required qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of clinical coding experience for complex or multi-specialties, or 3 years with a preferred degree
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or other relevant coding certification required upon hire
- Experience with Evaluation and Management coding and oncology coding preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC and auditing experience preferred
