Texas Licensed Clinical Document Specialist
Job Summary
To support a healthcare organization, the full-time RN Clinical Document Improvement Specialist will serve as a second-level reviewer and subject matter expert, managing work queues and performing clinical reviews remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a clinical subject matter expert and mentor for the CDI, Coding, and Quality Teams, providing ongoing education and training
- Identify educational opportunities in medical record reviews and deliver feedback for broader team education
- Perform second-level clinical reviews for targeted metrics, ensuring compliance and quality in documentation
Required qualifications
- Three (3) years of acute hospital-based CDI experience, preferably in an academic environment
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) certification
