Job Summary
To ensure accurate charge capture and timely billing, the Texas Licensed Clinical Reimbursement Specialist will work remotely, reviewing clinical documentation, managing patient accounts, and providing training to departmental staff.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews clinical documentation in EPIC applications to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Assists in reconciling patient accounts with charge discrepancies by collaborating with Patient Financial Services
- Generates reports on charge capture errors and provides training to departmental employees
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree from a Registered Health Information Technician accredited program or in a related health care field preferred
- A minimum of five years of experience in a hospital or medical office, including three years focused on charge capture and medical billing
- Certification as a Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT) preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software applications and coding systems (CPT and ICD-9)
- Ability to pass a General Computer test with a minimum score of 80%
