Texas Licensed Coding Auditor

Job Summary

Seeking a Texas Licensed Coding Auditor, the full-time remote Inpatient Coding Auditor, Senior Associate will perform coding reviews of medical records to ensure accurate coding according to established methodologies and guidelines, while also providing training and support to new auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits of medical record documentation to verify the accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes, adhering to official coding guidelines
• Achieve productivity and quality performance standards set by management while cross-training to review multiple claim types
• Assist in training new Coding Auditors through monitoring, mentoring, and providing feedback and education

Required qualifications

• 1+ years of active professional credentials through AHIMA or AAPC (CPC, CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT) required
• 3+ years of experience coding inpatient or outpatient claims required
• Proficiency in medical record auditing and familiarity with ICD-10 CM, ICD-10-PCS, APC, ASC, HCPCS, and CPT coding methodologies
• Thorough understanding of APR-DRG, AP-DRG, and MS-DRG payment systems
• Demonstrated experience in medical record coding and auditing
