Texas Licensed Coding Quality Analyst

Job Summary

To support a dynamic health information management team, the full-time Coding Quality Education Analyst (Inpatient) will perform medical record audits, validate coding assignments, and assist in organizational improvement efforts, with a primarily remote work arrangement and flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform auditing of medical records and validate assignment of DRG, diagnosis, and procedure codes
• Assist leadership in organizational improvement efforts
• Serve as a subject matter expert in coding practices and policies

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Services, Nursing, or related field, or a high school diploma with 2 years of coding experience in lieu of a degree
• 3 years of coding experience in an acute care setting
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA, APCIC, CCDS, or CDIP certification upon hire
• Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Word, Optum CAC, and EPIC
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT-4 coding conventions
