Job Summary

To support the Refugio Unaccompanied Children Shelter, the full-time Texas Licensed Medical Assistant will organize and coordinate medical services for unaccompanied children, ensuring compliance with health care guidelines while collaborating with medical providers and staff in San Benito, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the delivery of medical services to unaccompanied children, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Conduct initial medical screenings, maintain medical records, and provide health education to youth
• Oversee the scheduling of medical appointments and transportation for clients as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certification
• At least 1 year of experience in the child welfare field or social services
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, write, speak)
• Must pass a clean criminal background check and child protective services check
