Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare organization, the remote Texas Licensed Outpatient Coding Auditor will conduct complex coding quality reviews of medical records and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reimbursement methodologies while working full-time.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of medical records, claims, and supporting documentation to assess coding accuracy and compliance
- Perform ongoing quality assurance audits of coding and clinical review staff to ensure adherence to established methodologies
- Document audit findings and provide comprehensive coding and reimbursement determinations based on clinical documentation and regulatory requirements
Required qualifications
- One or more active professional credentials through AHIMA or AAPC: CPC, COC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT
- 3+ years of experience in outpatient medical record coding
- 3+ years of coding auditing, quality assurance, or coding validation experience
- Extensive experience reviewing outpatient facility claims and medical records
- Demonstrated expertise in outpatient reimbursement methodologies, including EAPG, APC, and ASC payment systems
