Job Summary
To support a national healthcare organization, the remote Texas Licensed Prior Authorization Pharmacist will manage prior authorization requests, review patient profiles, and assist with medication inquiries in a contract role.
Key responsibilities
- Review and complete criteria for prior authorization based on policy and procedure
- Assess patient profiles for drug interactions and determine the need for physician clarification
- Assist in patient services by addressing prescription medication questions and coordinating with physicians
Required qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in Texas in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with specialty medications or prior authorization requests
- Proficiency in MS Office and other Windows-based applications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance in prescription dispensing
