Job Summary
To support a growing team, the part-time Texas Licensed Residential Plans Examiner will provide comprehensive residential plan reviews to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of architectural plans and specifications for new residential construction and modifications
- Identify code deficiencies and prepare detailed comments for necessary corrections
- Provide technical direction to inspection personnel and address inquiries from clients and stakeholders
Required qualifications
- 3-5 years of residential plans examination experience with a municipality or similar organization
- ICC Residential Plans Examiner (R3) certification is required
- Thorough knowledge of the International Residential Code (IRC) and local amendments
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and zoning regulations
- Proficiency in permitting software and electronic plan review tools
