Job Summary
To support a growing power trading business, the full-time Texas Licensed Senior Financial Accountant will manage financial reporting, oversee power-market settlements, and ensure tax compliance while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the quarterly and annual financial close process, including preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger
- Own the accounting and reconciliation of power-market settlement activity, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns, maintaining compliance calendars and documentation
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation or equivalent recognized professional accounting designation in good standing
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional accounting experience post-CPA designation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline
- Public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent) articling background
- Experience with power trading or familiarity with ISO/RTO markets is preferred
