Tools Portfolio Manager
Job Summary
Supporting NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract, the full-time Tools Portfolio Manager will oversee the lifecycle of organizational tools, ensuring effective documentation, evaluation, and governance while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of approved tools, ensuring organized and discoverable documentation
- Create standardized evaluation processes to assess tools for functional fit and provide recommendations for adoption or retirement
- Build and maintain ROI models to analyze the value and operational impact of tools, guiding selection and lifecycle decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience in the Earth Science domain, including support for scientific workflows or tools
- Background in software engineering, IT management, product management, or a related technical discipline
- Demonstrated experience managing tools or software products through evaluation, onboarding, maintenance, and retirement phases
- Ability to assess tools against cybersecurity and compliance standards, ensuring risk controls and audit readiness
