Trade Compliance Consultant

Job Summary

Supporting the Trade Legal & Compliance organization, the part-time Trade Legal & Compliance Consultant will provide subject matter expertise and technical project support for export classification, licensing, and transaction-related compliance activities in a remote capacity during an eight-month sabbatical coverage period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-level expertise and support for export classification and licensing compliance activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate regulatory risks and deliver practical guidance on export control requirements
• Assist with M&A-related trade compliance due diligence and contribute to effective compliance practices across global operations

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
• 7-10 years of experience in global trade compliance, preferably in an in-house legal or corporate environment
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects or complex legal and regulatory initiatives
• Deep knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and SCOMET regulations, with hands-on experience in classification categories 3, 4, or 5
• Significant experience in M&A due diligence and managing complex export license portfolios
