Transcriptionist

Job Summary

To support the Department of Health and Human Services, the full-time remote Transcriptionist will translate materials into various languages, provide interpretation services, and develop communications to promote English language education for limited English proficiency communities.

Key responsibilities

• Translate HHS materials into multiple languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and French
• Provide over-the-phone and video interpretation services for HHS meetings and events as needed
• Develop and disseminate communications that promote English language education and resources for LEP communities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in linguistics or a foreign language such as Spanish, Chinese, Russian, or French
• At least three years of experience as a translator or in a similar role
• Minimum of three years of experience in editing, proofreading, and formatting in Microsoft Word
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Eligibility for an HHS Public Trust security clearance
