Translation Engineer
Job Summary
To support capital projects focused on migrating voice services from legacy TDM technologies to a SIP environment, the remote contract Translation Engineer will analyze, design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot network translations while ensuring minimal impact on customer services.
Key responsibilities
- Review project requirements and network designs to identify translation and configuration needs
- Analyze legacy TDM configurations and design translation solutions for migration to SIP-based environments
- Develop implementation procedures and perform post-migration testing to verify successful network transitions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Significant hands-on experience with translations engineering in carrier-class voice networks
- Strong knowledge of legacy TDM voice switching and SIP-based voice-network architecture
- Experience in supporting complex network migrations and developing implementation procedures
- Proficiency in using terminal access clients and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and project tracking
