Translation Engineer
Job Summary
To support capital projects focused on migrating voice services to a SIP-based environment, the Contract Translation Engineer will analyze, design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot network translations while working remotely on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Review project requirements and network designs to identify necessary translations and configurations
- Develop and implement translation solutions for call routing, trunking, and signaling during migrations
- Perform detailed analysis and validation to ensure successful implementation and troubleshoot any issues post-migration
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Significant hands-on experience with translations engineering in carrier-class voice networks
- Strong knowledge of legacy TDM voice switching and SIP-based voice-network architecture
- Experience in developing and executing implementation procedures, test plans, and back-out plans
- Proficiency in using terminal and remote-access clients, as well as Microsoft Office applications for documentation and project tracking
