Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer (PSCAD Specialist), this full-time position offers the opportunity to perform electromagnetic transient studies and model development while collaborating with a team to deliver innovative planning solutions, with options for remote work or various office locations across the U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Perform EMT work for network studies, generation and load interconnection tasks, and microgrid modeling
- Develop and tune PSCAD models for new and existing transmission resources, ensuring performance requirements are met
- Collaborate with and mentor junior engineers while supporting business development activities and maintaining industry knowledge
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Engineer in Training Certification
- 7 to 10 years of experience in transmission planning studies, particularly electromagnetic transient studies
- Proficiency in PSCAD, including complex controls interactions and detailed FACTS modeling
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment and communicate technical topics to diverse audiences
