Transport Engineer IV

Job Summary

To support network growth and capacity planning, the remote contract Transport Engineer IV will manage the creation and action of Capacity Creation Requests (CCRs) for US domestic network transport builds, focusing on SONET and Long-Distance transport systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planning, forecasting, and capacity monitoring of transport network infrastructure
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure adequate resources for network expansion and support capacity requirements
• Develop specifications for equipment installation and manage the Network Inventory Database to reflect network changes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree with 5-10 years of experience in designing SONET and DWDM transport systems
• Extensive knowledge of transport network systems and the ability to create complex system diagrams using Visio
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a self-starter attitude in fast-paced environments
• Experience with data analysis and the ability to consolidate information from multiple systems
• Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools
