Trauma Registrar

Job Summary

To support trauma data management, the full-time Trauma Registrar will identify, abstract, and maintain comprehensive records for all trauma patients remotely, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concurrent abstraction and data entry for all trauma-related hospital admissions and activations
• Ensure accurate capture of all data elements from injury through rehabilitation in the trauma registry
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma team members to support performance improvement initiatives

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• One year of ICD-10 coding and data entry experience required
• Demonstrated experience with AIS coding, ISS calculation, and ICD-10 coding skills
• Prior work in an ACS verified trauma center or high-volume emergency/critical care environment preferred
• Certifications in AAAM Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and completion of trauma registry and ICD-10 courses required within six months of hire
