Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote UI/UX Designer, the candidate will apply Human Centered Design principles to develop user-centric applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on usability, accessibility, and compliance with Section 508.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective UI/UX solutions
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma to communicate design concepts
- Serve as a subject-matter resource on UI/UX accessibility, providing guidance on design practices and compliance
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a portfolio showcasing accessible design work
- Strong understanding of Human Centered Design principles in complex environments
- Experience advising teams on Section 508 compliance and designing accessible user interfaces
- Proficiency with Figma and experience working in Agile development teams
