Underwriter
Job Summary
To support the underwriting team, the full-time remote Underwriter will collect and assess group health application information, perform risk appraisals, and calculate rates and premiums for group health insurance.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and clarify information from sales, account managers, and agents regarding group health applications
- Perform risk appraisals and evaluate group risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing
- Calculate and negotiate rates and premium charges for group health insurance using approved formulas
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience in Stop Loss Underwriting, Financial Underwriting, Actuarial, or Financial Management
- Proficiency with Excel
