Underwriter I

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Underwriter I will evaluate standard data to understand premium, claim, exposure, and population risks while supporting business strategy analysis and risk management initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluates standard data to identify actionable insights and potential data irregularities while learning to use models and data analytics tools
• Processes account activities and collaborates with internal departments to develop rates that mitigate risk and support sustainable membership growth
• Conducts account risk assessments and presents underwriting recommendations to clients and internal teams under supervision

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a corporate or business office environment
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and tools
• Understanding of the healthcare industry and underwriting principles is preferred
