Underwriter I

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Underwriter I will evaluate standard data to understand premium, claim, exposure, and population risks while supporting quality and process improvement efforts under guidance.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate standard data to identify actionable insights and potential data irregularities with team guidance
• Process account activities and assist in developing rates that mitigate risk for the organization
• Conduct account risk assessments and collaborate with internal departments to present underwriting recommendations

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a corporate or business office environment
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and tools
• Understanding of the health care industry and underwriting principles is preferred
