Underwriter I

Job Summary

To support the underwriting team, the full-time remote Underwriter I will evaluate data related to premium, claims, and risk exposure while learning to develop actionable insights and assist in risk assessment and account planning.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluates standard data to inform understanding of premium and claim risks, collaborating with the team to identify actionable insights
• Processes account activities and develops rates that mitigate risk while supporting account plans in collaboration with internal departments
• Conducts account risk assessments and presents underwriting recommendations to clients, with guidance from senior team members

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a corporate or business office environment
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and apply underwriting principles and methodologies
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external partners
