Underwriter I

Job Summary

To support the underwriting team, the full-time remote Underwriter I will evaluate standard data to assess risk, collaborate with internal teams to develop case strategies, and assist in the implementation of quality improvement efforts under supervision.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate standard data to understand premium, claims, and exposure while identifying actionable insights
• Process account activities and assist in developing rates that mitigate risk and support sustainable membership growth
• Conduct account risk assessments and present underwriting recommendations to clients and the organization with guidance

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a corporate or business office environment
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and tools
• Understanding of the healthcare industry and underwriting principles preferred
