Underwriter I

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Underwriter I will evaluate standard data to understand premium, claim, exposure, and population while supporting risk management and business strategy analysis.

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluates data to identify actionable insights and potential irregularities under guidance
• Processes account activities and collaborates with internal departments to develop risk-mitigating rates
• Conducts account risk assessments and presents underwriting recommendations with some supervision

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a corporate or business office environment
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and tools
• Understanding of the healthcare industry and underwriting principles preferred
