Underwriting Program Leader

Job Summary

Seeking an Underwriting Program Leader, the full-time remote position will manage the development and execution of a profitable underwriting program, leveraging an AI-native platform while overseeing P&L, underwriting guidelines, and broker relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the program's strategy, risk appetite, and underwriting guidelines in collaboration with senior leadership
• Act as the lead line underwriter, evaluating and pricing risks for new business and renewals
• Build and maintain brokerage relationships to drive program growth and set production goals

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of underwriting experience in a specialty or commercial line with expertise in a defined niche
• Proven track record of managing a large portfolio, ideally $50M+ in premium, profitably and at scale
• Experience in developing underwriting guidelines and maintaining underwriting discipline
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage broker relationships that drive production
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to innovate and challenge traditional underwriting practices
