Underwriting Technician

Job Summary

Providing high-level support to underwriters, the full-time remote Underwriting Technician will be responsible for the timely processing of new and renewal insurance applications, assisting with routine evaluations and communications with agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Process and evaluate new and renewal insurance applications under established guidelines
• Assist underwriters by communicating with agencies and managing routine underwriting requirements
• Perform data entry and policy issuance upon underwriter approval, including handling cancellations and reissues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; some college preferred
• Minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment
• Knowledge of policy processing procedures and applicable insurance products
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks while maintaining productivity and quality
