Job Summary
Focusing on security best practices, the full-time U.S. Air Force Security Engineer will assess legacy applications, guide teams towards compliant architectures, and ensure security is integrated into the software development lifecycle while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Protect sensitive data by applying security and privacy best practices
- Conduct security audits and risk analyses of legacy applications and their modernized replacements
- Execute Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, ensuring security documentation supports authorization
Required qualifications
- Experience taking systems through RMF and ATO, ideally in a DoD context
- Able to detect and mitigate risks by reviewing applications for vulnerabilities
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements regarding security and compliance
- Experience working in agile software development
- Interest in mentoring and coaching government partners
