USCG Licensed Marine Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time USCG Licensed Marine Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for ship design and construction processes at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC, with opportunities for remote/hybrid work arrangements.
Key responsibilities:
- Support naval architecture and marine engineering activities for various ship systems, ensuring efficiency and mission readiness
- Participate in design and construction activities, conducting independent design reviews and providing technical assistance during installations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and conduct special studies to improve ship performance
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical, or Design Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management or shipbuilding projects
- USCG Unlimited Engineering License is required
- Experience with Military Sealift Command or Coast Guard shipbuilding programs is preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is preferred
