User Experience Designer VA

Job Summary

To support a mission-critical application modernization program, the full-time User Experience Designer VA will conduct user research, design intuitive interfaces, and ensure accessibility standards are met while working in a hybrid environment with on-site support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct discovery interviews and usability testing sessions to gather user insights and evaluate design effectiveness
• Design user interfaces using a U.S. Web Design System (USWDS)-based framework to create a cohesive digital experience
• Translate research findings into user personas and journey maps to inform design decisions and ensure compliance with accessibility standards

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in UX research and design for enterprise or government web applications
• Experience with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) or an equivalent design system
• Proficiency in Figma for user interface design
• Familiarity with accessibility evaluation tools like axe
• Active Secret security clearance preferred
