USPTO Licensed Patent Agent

Job Summary

To support a growing intellectual property practice, the part-time USPTO Licensed Patent Agent will manage client and portfolio strategies, assist with patent drafting and prosecution, and conduct patent searches while working in a hybrid environment based in Bar Harbor, ME; Farmington, CT; or New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with research teams to provide strategic guidance on intellectual property opportunities and risks
• Assist in reviewing invention disclosures and conducting patent landscape searches to inform IP protection strategies
• Conduct patent searches and analyses for new products, ensuring compliance with organizational IP policies

Required Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the USPTO
• At least 3 years of experience as a patent agent, focusing on life science and/or data science
• Preferred: MS or PhD in life and/or data science
• Considered: BS in life sciences with at least 4 years of relevant research or product development experience
• Proven ability to manage patent matters and collaborate effectively with inventors and stakeholders
