VA Licensed Underwriter
Job Summary
Managing a pipeline of complex loan applications, the remote VA Licensed Underwriter will underwrite Government and Conventional loans while ensuring compliance with investor guidelines and company policies.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite complex loan applications and ensure timely closings within the assigned pipeline
- Analyze borrower income, assets, and credit documentation to ensure loans meet salability standards
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and respond to Quality Assurance reviews
Required qualifications
- Current VA SAR Designation
- 2+ years of new mortgage underwriting experience
- Excellent knowledge of FNMA and FHLMC guidelines
- Deep understanding of federal and state laws, including TRID, TILA, ECOA, and HMDA
- Proficiency in navigating loan origination software and basic computer skills
