VA Licensed Underwriter
Job Summary
Collaborating with the origination team, the remote VA Licensed Underwriter will evaluate mortgage loan applications, analyze borrower financials, and assess risk while ensuring compliance with regulations, requiring an active VA LAPP/SAR and renovation experience.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate mortgage loan applications for compliance with company policies and regulations
- Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
- Collaborate with processors and loan officers to resolve questions and expedite the underwriting process
Required qualifications
- Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
- Must have used DE and VA designation within the last 11 months
- Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
- Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
