Veterans Disability Claims Consultant

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Veterans Disability Claims Consultant will review and address technical, medical, and viability issues on claimant cases pending at all levels of the Veteran Affairs process, while mentoring peers and ensuring accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare summaries of veteran claims files, analyzing medical evidence and VA decisions
• Assist claimants with drafting statements and medical opinion requests, while identifying necessary medical records
• Mentor peers and support staff, providing training and guidance on claims processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of experience in Veteran's disability claims handling
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and high level of initiative
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
