Veterinary Dermatology Consultant

Job Summary

Providing expert dermatology consultations remotely, the full-time Veterinary Dermatology Consultant will advise veterinary professionals across the U.S. and Canada on diagnostic tests, interpret laboratory results, and evaluate treatment options for canine, feline, and equine dermatology cases.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver telephone consultations and support veterinarians with diagnostic test selection and interpretation of results
• Maintain current knowledge of veterinary dermatology literature and participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities
• Document consultation details accurately and contribute to the growth of Medical Consulting Services by ensuring an exceptional customer experience

Required qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree with a current veterinary license in good standing
• Board certification through the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) or substantial clinical experience as a residency-trained or practice-limited-to dermatology practitioner
• Strong clinical expertise in managing dermatologic diseases in dogs, cats, and horses
• Experience interpreting laboratory results and applying diagnostic information to patient care decisions
• Availability during consultation service hours, with flexibility expected
