Virginia Licensed Accounting Controller

Job Summary

To support multiple nonprofit clients, the full-time Virginia Licensed Accounting Controller will manage day-to-day finance functions, oversee month-end close processes, and serve as the main point of contact for clients, all while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outsourced accounting services, including financial statement preparation and grant accounting
• Review month-end close work and support the annual audit and Form 990 cycle
• Onboard new clients and manage interactions with external vendors and financial institutions

Required qualifications

• At least five years of experience in public accounting, auditing, or nonprofit accounting roles
• Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in-progress license preferred
• Experience in the not-for-profit industry preferred
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills
